24 Hour Free Confidential Hotline
Call our hotline 24 hours a day, seven days a week to get support if you are experiencing domestic and/or sexual violence or would like information about services and options. We can also help with Relief of Abuse orders 24 hours a day, and

Emergency Shelter


Our emergency shelter is available for women and children  fleeing a domestic violent situation. Please call our hotline and talk to one of our advocates if you think shelter might be an option for you. There are limitations to length of stay and residents must sign a contract and agree to work with an advoate on a goal plan.

Systems Advocacy

  • Legal: Information and assistance to report to the police, criminal process information, Temporary Restraining Order filing assistance and final hearing advocacy
  • Medical: Hospital, doctor visits, rape exams, support and advocacy
  • Government assistance
  • Housing issues
Information and Referrals

CHNC can provide victims and survivers with imperative information to help them achieve their goals.We connect and refer victims/survivors to community agencies and other services that are available to support you.

Children's Services

CHNC offers free childcare during our weekly support groups (if called in advance). Our Child Advocate is also available to support Mom's in sustaining healthy relationships with their children, facilitating outreach prevention programs in local school systems and  facilitating a  support group for children witnessing or effected by vilolence (see support groups below). 
Support Groups 
 

Every Monday evening from 6-7:30pm CHNC offers a free, safe and confidential place where  victims and survivors  of domestic/and or sexual violence can find emotional support. These groups are co-facilitated by trained advocates and childcare is available if called for in advance. Support Groups take place at our "Community Space" located in downtown Morrisville on Hutchins Street in the Barbor Realty Building, across from the Bijou Movie Theatre. "My Group" is a support group for children who have witnessed or experienced domestic and/or sexual violence and it takes place Wednesday afternoons. Please call 888-5256 for additional information and for childcare needs during group.
On- Going Emotional Support



Advocates are available to give emotional support 24 hours a day,seven days a week. We are a confidential agency, and are here to listen, NOT judge. Please call if you need someone to talk to...You are not alone. We provide you with options. We do not tell you what to do. We will support you in whatever choices YOU make.

Outreach Prevention Programs

The Clarina Howard Nichols Center is dedicated to the prevention of domestic and sexual violence in our community. We offer free educational services to any organization or school in Lamoille County that is interested the topics surrounding building healthy relationships and non-violence within our communities. We also offer programs geared towards school aged children K-12, including ant-bullying and conflict resolution. All of our workshops can be tailored to meet the needs and interests of our target audience.

Community Space


CHNC has recently opened a Community Space located on Hutchins Street in downtown Morrisville, VT. Community members and/or victims and survivors are encouraged to stop in for information, advocacy, donation pick up or drop off and/or general inquiry about our services. Programs that take place in the Community Space are Project Safe Choices, Support Groups, "My Group" - support groups for children who have witnessed domestic or sexual violence, volunteer trainings and other outreach events.
