There are thousands of survivors of sexual assault in Vermont. They are your neighbors, family members, friends, co-workers and classmates.

Did you know…

• Nationwide, 81% of women and 43% of men reported experiencing some form of sexual harassment and/or assault in their lifetime.
• It’s estimated less than 25% of sexual assaults in the US are reported to police.

Vermont State University students organized art activities, shared resources with their fellow students, and more for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Thank you to Jenna’s Promise and Two Sons Bakehouse Vermont for displaying the Clothesline Project at their cafe in Johnson throughout the month of April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The Clothesline Project is a visual representation of sexual assault in our community. Sexual assault survivors, and those affected by sexual assault, use words and/or artwork to decorate t-shirts which are then hung on a clothesline. This project can be educational for those viewing it and healing for those who participate.

We’re grateful for our local libraries who created book displays — head over to Morrisville Centennial Library, Lanpher Memorial Library in Hyde Park, and the Stowe Free Library to check out these books.

The Vermont Coalition to End Homelessness, of which Clarina is a member, held their annual Homelessness Awareness march and vigil on January 18.

Last year, 536 people experienced homelessness in Lamoille County — 169 children, 347 adults ages 18 to 64, and 20 adults over 65. Across the state, a total of 7,795 people were homeless in 2023. Read more about the event in the News & Citizen.

Clarina staff celebrated LGBTQ+ pride by marching in the Vermont Pride parade this summer alongside the Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. The joy was contagious! #lovewins
